SERRL 27th March- Biddenden 3/4/J/W

4T+ Velo club had many riders racing last weekend with five members taking part in the SERRL race at Biddenden. Neil Lauder managed to make a break from the group with seven other riders nearing the end of the race.

Nearing the end, the break away split with Neil in the leading group of five. Unfortunately, in the last half a mile of the race Neil suffered a mechanical failure with his derailleur getting wedged into his back wheel. With help from the support vehicle, the derailleur was freed and Neil ran with his bike to the finish line. Remarkably, he was only caught by the three remaining riders from the original break, earning himself 8th place. Despite hopes for a podium finish, this is a result to be proud of.

Kev Newland was also one of the five members on the start line but sadly got a puncture 15 miles into the race so was not able to finish. Chris Cook and Aaron Hughes both had great races despite the awful weather, finishing just outside the top 10 in the main bunch.
