8th August Crits in the Park Cyclopark
A great return to Crits in the Park for some of our riders. This round was hosted by San Fairy Ann and the racing was fast as usual.Ian Vagg secured his 2nd Cat license finishing 5th in the 3rd Cat race. Ian attacked numerous times, determined to secure the points needed which has seen him go from 4th to 2nd cat in one season. Ian Jones worked hard in the bunch to take 7th on the line in a hectic bunch sprint, Stuart Featherstone crossed the line in 12th, a great result for him and giving him a boost to push on in the next race.
The 4th cat race saw a triumphant return for the club's own Cookie Monster, Chris Cook. After injury, illness and then a training.schedule comprising of riding in the Alps Chris attacked from the gun, upsetting the bunch and jolting them into action. He was caught after his solo attack but sat in the bunch and conserved energy to power home in the sprint to take 3rd. A cracking result for our returning rider!

Saying with the main bunch for the first time through the preem, Jody worked with a group of 3 riders after 2 got away. Staying together finally gave jody the chance to test her sprint and she took 2nd in the group. The points secured her 3rd overall in her first race series.
23rd August 2015 SERRL
The prospect of riding this notoriously hilly course around Lamberhurst and Frant had not exactly been a day to look forward too for some of our riders, and with 3 laps to go and the heavens opening the reason why they had entered crossed their minds a million times. Malcolm Davies and Stuart Baldwin put in some hard attacks in the first few laps, then , with the help of Ian Vagg and Stephen Gibson worked hard to shut down a break, pulling the riders back to the bunch. As the rain came harder, a break got away with Ian, who has recently got his cat 2 licence, chasing hard. Malc and Stuart sat on the front to slow the bunch down. With 500 meters to go the effort of climbing and the now torrential rain had taken its toll on the riders ahead and the race was back together. An uphill finish greeted the riders, Staurt found himself in the best position and managed to hang on to take a close 2nd. Ian Vagg finished 19th after his efforts to chase the break got the better of his legs. Malcolm Davies rolled in with the main bunch in 20th and Stephen Gibson finished with the other riders just behind.
